Elisabeth LeSeur (1866-1914) was a French woman whose godly life-style, prayer and love for her atheist husband were instrumental in his becoming a serious Christian after her death. Here is a prayer of hers which I have adapted from Evelyn Underhill’s Prayer Book (2018):
“O God, we are and desire to be wholly Yours, both in endurance and in peace, in dryness and inward joy, in health and sickness, in life and death.
“We ask only that You accomplish Your will in us and through us. We pursue and desire more and more this end alone, that Your glory may increase as You accomplish Your plans for us. We offer our entire selves to You. Use us as ordinary tools, however you choose, for the good of those You love.” — Eiisabeth Leseur
Coffee/tea thought: May we make the prayer of this godly woman our own today.
