Need may drive a child to go to a parent. But as George McDonald observed, “The child needs its mother more than its supper.”
We are often driven to prayer because of needs, ours and others. But there is a deeper need of which we are often not fully conscious: The need for deeper relationship with our good God.
An old writer said: “Teach my soul to be silent in Your presence, that I may love You in the depths of my being and wait for all things from You.”
Coffee/tea thought: Lord, teach me to be at ease, quietly remaining in Your presence. Quiet my inner “noise” as I await Your working in all things for the good of those who love You. Amen
