In Jesus’ parable of the workers in the vineyard, a landowner hired workers for his vineyard. Some were hired early in the day, some later, others very late in the day. Jesus gave a shocking ending to the parable: At the end of the day, every worker received the same wage!
Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is like that. Like the generous landowner, God gives salvation as a gift of grace. None of us can earn it as a wage for work.
If God generously gives us the huge gift of salvation, won’t he also provide for our small needs today?
Coffee/tea thought: “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” What is preventing me from letting go into God’s care for me at this very moment?
