Learning To Trust God Deeply 3

中文:Chinese Version

She was inside the tent, listening to three visitors who were talking with her husband outside. She had always longed to have children, and was now far too old to bear a child. So when she heard them say that she would bear a son, she laughed to herself.

Then one of the three “men”, whom the Bible identifies as the Lord, asked “Why did Sarah laugh?” She denied it, but the Lord said, “You did laugh.”

So it surprises me that Hebrews 11 speaks of Sarah as an example of faith. Evidently she came to TRUST God’s promise, and bore a son named Isaac (whose name is related to laughter), even though her initial reaction was disbelief. This is God’s grace demonstrated.

Coffee ThoughtCoffee/tea thought: Imagine Sarah’s feelings as she held her newborn son and said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” Might I be missing joy today by failing to trust what God says?
