Time For Relationships

中文: Chinese Version

Joseph Bayly (1920-1986) was a well-known Christian writer and speaker. One time Win and I were at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Family Camp where Joe spoke of the value of spending time with family.

Joe’s work required a lot of travel, and sometimes he took one of his children with him on business trips. The child got to see how a godly parent did life and business. Joe said he didn’t want school to interfere with his children’s education (learning important lessons about life)!

I also remember another way Joe set aside time to be with his family. On many weekends of his calendar he wrote the word “HOME”. When someone called to ask him to speak on a certain weekend, Joe could honestly say, “That weekend is already taken.” (No one ever questioned why! Instead, they asked about other dates.)

Coffee/tea ThoughtCoffee/tea thought:. How might I creatively reserve time for the relationships that are most important to me?
